Anesthesia, ICU, pain management. The goal of an anesthesia consultation is to determine which type of anesthesia is best for the operation and the patient profile. Similarly, pain management is prioritized at Institut Curie.

Biopathology. The medical laboratories conduct the medical analyses required for patient care, contribute to Institut Curie’s research programs, and assess innovative diagnostic and therapeutic methods.

Surgery. Surgery is often an inevitable part of cancer treatment. At Institut Curie, our physicians recommend conservative or reconstructive surgery whenever possible, so that the treatment leaves the smallest possible trace.

Medical imaging. Using cutting-eduge technical equipment, the medical imaging section can perform very accurate diagnostics and also remotely guide certain delicate operations for greater precision.

Medical oncology.
The medical department is responsible for all drug treatments that directly fight cancer. As such, it has many different responsibilities.

Pediatric, adolescent, and young adult oncology. It is crucial for children and teenagers to continue living as normal a life as possible despite the disease. That is why the pediatric department has adopted a specific policy, with many special provisions, to treat children suffering from solid tumor cancer.

Radiation therapy for cancer. Radiation therapy was born at Institut Curie after Pierre and Marie Curie discovered radium in 1898. Ever since, the institute’s physicians and scientists have been making a decisive contribution toward improving practices and technologies that aim for maximum preservation of the organs and body. Today, the Institut Curie radiation therapy equipment is among the most diverse and high-performance in Europe.

Support treatments. Preventing and treating pain, providing psychological support, being there for patients, and evaluating social difficulties are the tasks of the support treatment team.

Pharmacy. The hospital’s pharmacy manages its drug inventory and prepares drug treatments.

Clinical research. Clinical research refers to all medical research conducted on human beings. Its aim is to improve treatments while reducing their negative effects. The search for new treatments is a top priority for Institut Curie caregivers, requiring them to pool their many different areas of expertise.
