Distinctions, certification and recognition

The work of Institut Curie staff is recognised across the board. Below is an overview of the various government certifications granted to the Research Centre and the Hospital Group, as well as the awards regularly bestowed upon doctors, researchers and other employees for work or activities that help advance the fight against cancer.

labex The Research Centre: laboratories and equipment of excellence

Since 2011, Institut Curie has benefited from long-term investment offered by the French government in 2010. In particular, it has set up three “Laboratories of Excellence” (Labex), and been awarded “Equipment of Excellence” funding. It also takes part in activities led by other research bodies.

SiRIC SIRIC certification: Integrated Cancer Research Site

In June 2011, Institut Curie became one of the first centres to be granted Integrated Cancer Research Site (SIRIC) status by INCa (French National Cancer Institute). This certification, which is very much in line with the original model created by Marie Curie herself, has boosted the institute’s day-to-day efforts to combine treatment and research in order to fight cancer.

recherches cliniques Hospital Group certification

Institut Curie’s clinical research activities are widely recognised by the French Ministry of Health’s Department of Healthcare Provision (DGOS). The Hospital Group has been awarded certification in a number of areas, reflecting the quality and relevance of its research.
